If there are any two brands that know a thing or two about canvas, it’s Carhartt and Converse. Expanding on the latter’s game-changing is a brand new collaborative Chuck 70 project, which makes use of a thousand pre-loved canvas Carhartt work jackets, trousers and overalls, sourced from UK-based fashion and vintage retailer Beyond Retro.

No two pairs are the same, with all the pre-loved garbs sorted into three colour ranges - navy, black and brown – then and butterfly cut to create individual Chuck 70 shoe panels. As you’d expect, the hardwearing canvas takes the toughness up a notch, while the essence of the beloved silhouette remains intact. The tri-panel construction allows the trademark Carhartt WIP stitching details to come to the fore, while the rest of the build will please even the most steadfast Chuck connoisseurs.

Championing Renew’s upcycling approach, the Converse x Carhartt WIP Renew Chuck 70 has diverted more than 108,000 textile items from landfills. Hard work always pays off!

The Converse x Carhartt WIP Renew Chuck 70 will be available in limited quantities, exclusively at Converse on May 28.
