Canine Kicks: The Extra Butter x adidas EQT CSG 91 ‘Best Friend’ is Dedicated to Dogs
It’s widely said and believed that dogs are our ‘best friend’. Now, there’s a very strong case for cuddly canines to be the best inspiration for sneakers too, as have unleashed their new CSG 91 that is very much inspired by the delight dogs bring as everybody’s ‘Best Friend’.
The EB x adi partnership was first revealed via the adidas microsite, with a handful of collaborative partners joining the collection. EB is up next with the EQT CSG 91, which is a slightly modified version of the original from 1991. They personalise their colab with taupe, brown and black colourway, plus add just a touch of faux spotted fur around the ankle trim for a wild streak. EB branding is found on the dubrae and paw print on the outsole heel.
‘The relationship between human and canine is a tale almost as long as recorded history itself. And very much a New York City story. From posting up on the front stoop to strolls in Central Park,’ said Bernie Gross, creative lead for Extra Butter. ‘Most importantly it's the unconditional love they give and how grounded they can keep you that make the companionship so valuable.’
