Last Resort AB may be a new name on the skate shoe scene, but its founders Pontus Alv (of fame) and Sami are griptape veterans. Their newest venture is called the VM001, and it’s a refined design that features classic cues updated with practical considerations.
At first glance, they may look fairly conventional with suede uppers and vulc sole construction but, upon closer inspection, there are plenty of clever touches. For example, high stress areas like the eyestays are doubled-stitched. And the shoelaces are made from 100 per cent cotton, which holds knots better. Even the tread pattern has been configured to not gather stray pebbles!
