BMW have linked up with  and created a sneaker based on their newest concept car. This PUMA X-Cat Disc takes its design cues from the BMW GINA – a car covered in fabric instead of steel. That might sound crazy, but it gets better. The car can actually change form by moving its flexible aluminium wire structure beneath. Meaning that if it needs to ‘grow’ a spoiler at high speeds, it can.

This PUMA X-Cat Disc borrows the laser cut material used on the GINA and uses it to cover its upper. The angular nose of then concept car is referenced with a capped toe box, and cranking the Disc system allows the shoe to (slightly) change form just like the GINA does.

The BMW x PUMA X-Cat Disc will be available from select PUMA retailers from July 1.
