BEAMS x Mizuno's Sky Medal for the KAZOKU Program
Mizuno’s KAZOKU (translated to ‘Family’ in Japanese) program was created to foster collaboration between the brand and its closest supporters. The program’s next project sees Japanese retailer BEAMS link up for a limited edition Sky Medal colourway.
The retro vibes come through strong, as a 90s-runner-style combination of turquoise, white and black hits the upper. Pops of red and orange hit the tongue and insoles for contrast. Celebrating both brands’ Japanese heritage, an embroidered setting sun motif sits under the Mizuno logo on the tongue, while the a ‘美’ — representing the first character in Mizuno’s full Japanese name ‘美津濃’ — is embroidered at the base of the tongue. BEAMS branding comes debossed near the heel counter and insole to add some collaborative polish.
At this stage, this killer colab appears to be a Japanese exclusive, dropping at BEAMS locations on October 13 for ¥15,500 (approximately $140 USD). We’ll bring you any news of a wider drop.
