BEAMS x Mizuno's Sky Medal for the KAZOKU Program
KAZOKU (translated to ‘Family’ in Japanese) program was created to foster collaboration between the brand and its closest supporters. The program’s next project sees Japanese retailer BEAMS link up for a limited edition colourway.
The retro vibes come through strong, as a 90s-runner-style combination of turquoise, white and black hits the upper. Pops of red and orange hit the tongue and insoles for contrast. Celebrating both brands’ Japanese heritage, an embroidered setting sun motif sits under the Mizuno logo on the tongue, while the a ‘美’ — representing the first character in Mizuno’s full Japanese name ‘美津濃’ — is embroidered at the base of the tongue. BEAMS branding comes debossed near the heel counter and insole to add some collaborative polish.
