BAPE Ring in the Lunar New Year with ROAD STA and SK8 STA
Chinese New Year is about to kick off, we’re only a few days away and have decided to ring it in with new colourways of their and !
Every year, sneaker brands look to celebrate the Lunar New Year with specialised creps that are usually themed around the 12 Zodiac signs. So far we’ve seen hit us with a and with a and but BAPE may have trumped them all with their Tiger-themed creations.
The ROAD STA is from BAPE ’s early-2000s catalogue and has been experiencing somewhat of a resurgence recently. This latest celebratory iteration has been given a a crisp tiger stripe camo treatment with subtle vintage-inspired details. The base layer of white leather has been slightly yellowed matching the tinged midsole and complementary black accents. The SK8 STA, another Y2K BAPE model has been doused in full tiger camo, orange STA logos, cream midsole and gum outsole.
Both the Chinese New Year ROAD STA and SK8 STA will hit shelves on January 29 ahead of the Lunar New Year celebrations on BAPE’s web store and at their Japan locations.
