BAPE Prepare to Hit the ROAD STA Again
are bringing back another distinct design from their early-2000s catalogue in the form of the . Conspicuously intended to resemble other famous bubble-soled sneakers of the era, this reissue almost 20 years since its original run also recalls the metallic colours that blinged out the model. Definitely made for lifestyle only, don’t even bother trying to perform any athletic activities in these shoes.
In fact, these combinations of red and blue, green and purple, and red and gold certainly hark back to the collaboration from circa 2006 that featured similar shades. These new releases are rather unabashed to replicate their earlier success, down to the opposing textures of smooth and almost sandblasted. Reflecting the kaleidoscopic colourways of BAPE releases is also the fact that every adjacent panel on the uppers is a different colour. Even the midsoles, outsole, and air-cushioning unit (all lowercase here, so no lawyers please) are each a different shade.
The BAPE ROAD STA in this trio of metallic colourways is scheduled to land at BAPE’s retail network on Christmas Day, December 25. It’s actually been quite some time since the last release for this model, so hopefully it means more colours are on the way.
