BAIT and Reebok Power Up an Astroboy Collection
are extending their love for with a new collaboration entailing all things Astroboy. It consists of apparel, toys and accessories, plus they’ve brought on for glow-in-the-dark sneakers. They’ve chosen the and Stomper to best portray the loveable cartoon character.
The Instapump Fury is still a super technical sneaker, which makes it the perfect conduit for the similarly advanced Astroboy character. Its predominately black upper hides a tonal schematic chart of the robot child’s layout, but once the lights are off, the entire shoe glows bright green. This is emphasised by bright red accents on the instep, outsole and Pump buttons.
Similarly, the Club C Stomper – itself a retrofuturistic reimagination of the classic tennis shoe – displays a blueprint of Astroboy, and perhaps the theme is a little more obvious. With the lights on, it’s an all-white sneaker covered all over by wispy blue lines. Some of these depict the character’s face, making the inspiration clear. Again, with the lights off, these glow even brighter than the Instapumps.
The BAIT x Reebok x Astroboy collection is available via raffles that are live right now on BAIT. Results are announced on May 21, whereby a limited allocation will also be sold on a first come, first served basis online and at their locations. Reebok will also be releasing the shoes online the same day.
