In case you haven't heard, TNs are in – whether it’s the classic OGs returning or new collaborations, the is experiencing a resurgence. The last two years have seen both the and return, and projects like and have injected fresh takes as well. The TNs (which stands for 'Tuned Air') have historically maintained a larger following across Europe, and the continent's summer isn’t ending yet – an azulejo ceramics-inspired Air Max Plus just surfaced.

Azulejo ceramics, a type of painted tile work, is native to Portugal. Dating back to the 13th century, these intricate tiles were used in the decoration of palaces and churches. Beginning in the 19th century, azulejo started appearing on building facades to embellish the exteriors, and signify the owner was stacking bands. Now, that same flex can be worn on your feet! The Air Max Plus ‘Lisboa’ features uppers in the distinctive blue and white-patterned design, with hits of yellow – which is often found in the ceramic work as well – to the Swoosh and TN logo. The source of inspiration is driven home with 'LISBOA' printed on the tongue. Perhaps the most thoughtful detail is the tiled pattern beneath the translucent outsoles; right from its foundation, this pair is rooted in Portuguese culture.
