Astrid Andersen Colab Highlights the hummel REACH LX 6000

The thirst is real for the Astrid Andersen x hummel REACH LX 6000! Almost eight months since fashionistas first spotted this eye-popping collaboration at London Fashion Week, the double Danish delivery is almost here. It’s definitely the most fashion-forward interpretation of the modern silhouette yet, but it’s also just as adept on the sidewalk as it is on the catwalk! Let’s take a closer look.

Astrid Andersen elevates the REACH LX 6000’s futuristic design by rebuilding the evolved handball sneaker in luxury materials and employing dramatic colourblocking. Tonal shades highlight luxuriously layered leather and suede uppers, contrasting against the lightweight ripstop nylon inserts. However, instead of going the tonal route, Andersen splashes orange across the heel, running it to the midsole for a scorching pop of colour.

There is also a sustainable slant to this colab. Andersen's innovative creative direction enabled her to repurpose deadstock artifacts from hummel's 100-year-plus archive for some of this collection. From looking at the past, Andersen and hummel are advocating a future of more conscious consumption.

Putting on a show underfoot, this colab is a dramatic departure from the stark white midsoles that featured on the Archive and inline collections, Andersen dips the REACH compound midsoles in bold black, adding a strong two-toned look against the tonal uppers. The colour may have changed, but the super spongy REACH compound and custom-printed OrthoLite insole combo remains in place for some of the cosiest kicks out.

Of course, rocking the right outfit makes any sneaker pop, so a full collection of archive-inspired garments designed by Andersen are releasing alongside the REACH LX 6000. The contemporary cuts celebrates hummel's iconic chevron branding. Snazzy!
