This ASICS GEL-Lyte III Loosely Resembles the Old Zillion Colab
Sneakerheads who were around for the renaissance of the early 2010s will no doubt remember the super clean Zillion collaboration from 2011. The sight of these new GL3s may evoke some fond memories of that era, as this edition certainly bears strong visual resemblance.
Of course, this new pair doesn’t boast any fancy Japanese fabrics or wistful product stories about kimono ceremonies. It does, however, feature a pretty supple all-leather upper in thick ‘Cream’ tones and an equally lush ‘Bisque’ contrast GEL midsole. The material swap is a premium step up from the usual microfibre and nylon configuration, and it does well to prevent overheating by some strategic perforation placement on the toe box.
As the Zillion colab release in what feels like a zillion years ago, now’s the perfect time to re-up a clean colourway of the GEL-Lyte III. They’re available now directly from ASICS.
