Only One Pair Exists of the Afew x ASICS GEL-Lyte III ‘Beauty of Imperfection CP 1/1’
have collaborated on a series of very covetable over the years, but their latest release is likely set to be their rarest ever. The ‘Beauty of Imperfection CP 1/1’, as its name suggests, is a one of one – and you could be the lucky owner.
While a sole sneakerhead will be in possession of these kicks, the work it took to put them together was very much a team effort. Beyond the official partnership between Afew and ASICS, the design was chosen by the sneaker community, and the shoes hand made by German designer Martin Heck. There’s also a custom tea table crafted by Herschel Heck – also a one-off. This ties in nicely to the Japanese theme of wabi sabi, which roughly translates to the ‘beauty of imperfection’ and thus provides the inspiration for this release. It also plays out literally due to the tearaway nature of the upper.
Additionally, the ultimate team contribution will be that proceeds are being directed towards the Regenbogenland Children's and Youth Hospice, a facility providing care to severely ill youth. The shoes are being raffled at 5 Euros per entry, with all proceeds going towards the Regenbogenland Hospice. Afew will be picking out the winning entry on Instagram Live on February 14 at 7:30PM CEST.
