Frills Thrill at Runway Reintroduction of ASICS' GEL-Kinetic Fluent

The word is out: lace is no longer relegated to those super-short curtains that go above grandmas' kitchen windows. In the realm of fabrics, lace's delicate whimsy has made it a favourite for designers looking to accent their creations – and the sphere of footwear is to its ethereal charm. Now, and Shanghai-based label have come together on a new iteration of the former's , with a lacy convolution.
Japanese sportswear titans ASICS continue to navigate the tech vs style gauntlet with confidence, reintroducing the GEL-Kinetic Fluent as a bridge between the premium and the more understated appeal of Sportstyle mainstays like the . The model made its 2025 Paris Fashion Week debut in a compelling collaboration with SHUSHU Tong, sent down the runway for the label's Spring/Summer 2026 collection.
Founded by Liushu Lei and Yutong Jiang, SHUSHU Tong work with an aesthetic that often includes intricate floral appliqué as well as bows and ruffles on their doll-like garments. The label previously achieved considerable attention for another ASICS colab, in 2022: the blue gingham Tarther SC Plus.
The forthcoming Spring/Summer 2026 collection will feature two distinct GEL-Kinetic Fluent colourways, each embodying SHUSHU Tong's signature elements. The darker pair presents a sophisticated interplay of black and deep blue tones, while the other offers an airy composition of white, blue, and silver. Both designs feature lace ruffles which pirouette along the tongue and heel, immediately softening the shoe's technical contours.
We're still too far out from SS26 itself to have any release date info – but keep it locked for more as it comes in.
