ASICS’ legendary Kayano line has been a decades-long endeavour that has birthed multiple models. Ever since its inception in 1993, it’s been the jewel of ASICS running catalogue and we think some of their older models need to return. Recently, ASICS resurrected one of their most interesting silhouettes named the GEL-Kayano 14. A monumental model, it was designed by Hidenori Yamashita and was actually the first Kayano to not be designed by Toshikazu Kayano himself.

Collaborations and special colourways have been the driving force of the resurgence, enlisting a Kiko consultation and a linkup with Awake NY’s Angelo Baque. Interestingly, when the 14 released in 2008 it was a hardcore runner but in 2022 has become somewhat of a lifestyle option. This year, GR’s have been coming in left, right and centre with the latest adorning a combination of ‘Mantle Green’ and ‘Oyster Grey’. For this bad boy they kept the tooling intact but have done away with the 2000s design language, opting for a luxe green suede and mesh. The midsole is stark white while the exposed GEL elements add a tonal green contrast.

Looking mean in ‘Mantle Green’, this ASICS GEL-Kayano 14 is available to cop right now via the brand’s web store! You better be quick though, sizes are moving fast.
