This ASICS GEL-Cumulus 16 Is a Seven-Way Collaboration

It seems the next model up on the retro cycle will be the – the mid-2010s runner that’s now been resurrected as part of the brand's Sportstyle catalogue. Helping to bring the GEL-injected silhouette back into the limelight was , who added her hyper-feminine touch. Now, another collaboration has emerged on the model and it’s with seven of the brand’s pinnacle retail partners.

That’s not a typo – seven retailers were involved in the creation of this shoe, including , , , , , SOMEWHERE and FEATURE. This linkup has been dubbed ‘Tomo’, which is the name ASICS gives to their top-tier stockists.

With seven different retailers involved in the linkup, one would expect a mess of technicolour, but instead ASICS and its partners have kept it low key. Most of the mesh-based upper contains a tonal grey with subtle metallic silver leather overlays. Gradient purple and green hints arrive on the tiger-stripe branding and GEL midsole pods, with subtle off-white touches across the sole unit.
