Following the anticipated return of the Nike ACG Air Mowabb ‘Rattan Birch’ and ‘Gravity Purple’ last week for the model’s 30th anniversary, the ‘Twine’ has also joined the party. This is particularly exciting news for fans of the Mowabb, as this third colourway hasn’t been reissued since its original release. However, as many ACG aficionados have been quick to point out online, there are some new changes to contend with.

Some of the most telling differences include the mini Swoosh used on the lateral forefoot toe bumper, plus a Huarache logo on the front of the ankle sock and two large pull tabs on the front and rear. As hypothesised previously, this is likely due to Nike using the same pattern as the Olivia Kim collaboration, which was the last time the Mowabb was part of the assortment.

Beyond these glaring modifications, the beige ‘Twine’ leather juxtaposed against the vivid teal neoprene Huarache bootie evokes the Mowabb’s OG 90s flavour, as does the generously-speckled midsole – one of the first Nikes to feature the cookies ‘n’ cream finish. These are still fresh, warts and all.

The Nike ACG Air Mowabb ‘Twine’ is available now from Bodega, which means they should be hitting other global retailers shortly.
