ALYX Dropping New Nike Air Force 1 Highs This Week
label is preparing to release a new duo of collaborative , rendered in the now-signature style of premium leather and custom strap hardware that’s defined previous drops. This latest pair sees tough colourways of black and red, with mirrored options.
The ALYX AF-1 first released in 2020, following a preview at various fashion events. Fans of MMW’s work and AF-1s alike, did not balk at the $400 pricetag – over four times the RRP of a standard pair – because of the premium features of the edition. For one, Nike usually have their own types to leather to use, but the ALYX versions source their uppers from , who are well regarded in the footwear industry for their custom tanned hides. The luxury leather extends to the straps, which are then connected to ALYX’s signature ‘Cobra’ buckle. Like previous releases, the buckle is rendered tonally to the strap, so this time there is a striking red anodised version. On the colourway front, these two editions simply go for tonal uppers and soles with a contrast Swoosh, plus subtle ALYX branding on the lateral heel counter.
Raffle entries to purchase these AF-1s will open on ALYX’s website on October 19, ahead of an October 21 release.
