Even with their iconic Rivington Club in Manhattan's Lower East Side (which hosted a release party for Sneaker Freaker #8 all the way back in 2006) closing down earlier this year, Alife are still New York through and through – and those Big Apple roots are definitely represented on their new Saucony colab. A vividly-coloured take on the Shadow 6000, Alife's design appears to pay homage to the MTA, New York City's famed transit system.

The shoe recently popped up on the web store of Spanish sneaker retailer Sivasdescalzo and no official word from Saucony or Alife regarding its exact inspiration has been announced yet. However, we doubt it's a coincidence that all its accent colours match up with the MTA lines that run through Lower Manhattan. The white suede and mesh base is embellished with yellow, orange, blue, green and red hits – but no purple, as any New Yorker knows the 7 line doesn't go any further south than 34th Street!

Other details include special Alife hits on the lateral forefoot and the tongue badge, a New York spell-out across the heels and a ©2021 stamp under each collar. Pops of silver branding, exposed foam tongues and gum outsoles finalise the look.

If you're a proud New Yorker (or you just want to look like one), this Alife x Saucony Shadow 6000 is set to release via Sivasdescalzo and other Saucony stockists come December 10.
