Alife and FILA Keep the Trigate Colab Simple and Clean
New York street were one of the first entities to embrace multi-brand collaborations across a number of genres, especially sneakers. With a string of recent joint efforts among international labels, they’ve now turned their attention to . Here they have added a simple palette swap of the modern Trigate model.
Redressed in luxurious grey leather, and mesh uppers in reference to the core apparel collections Alife regularly pump out, the flat colour reveals the depth of detail up top. There’s a lot going on: ghillie style lace system, plastic eyelet hardware, generous mesh inserts, wavy mudguard panels, and oversized pull tabs. Extra large Alife branding is stamped onto the side of the mudguard, alongside an equally sizeable ‘registered trademark’ symbol.
The midsoles are tonal too, but they’re rendered in bright orange for an exciting colour pop. Again, the monochrome finish highlights the textural intricacies of the blown foam cushioning. Its tread pattern is equally tonal and complex, featuring a mixture of hexagonal, herringbone and horizontal markings that sits flush underneath. Plus, it’s dressed in classic gum-coloured rubber!
