Jordan Brand have unveiled the 31st shoe to carry the coveted Air Jordan name. Dubbed the Air Jordan XXXI, the design incorporates a first-of-its-kind one-piece upper, which transitions from lightweight Flyweave to supportive synthetic leather at the rear. The model sits atop a low-profile full-length Zoom Air unit, which has been tweaked with FlightSpeed technology for maximum energy transfer. The Air Jordan XXXI is the work of senior designer Tate Kuerbis, who was behind the design of both the Air Jordan 18 and Air Jordan 19. Curiously, it was only back in January that the Air Jordan XXX was revealed.

The AJXXXI is an intentional nod to the design of the Air Jordan 1, featuring a sidewall Nike Swoosh for the first time since the line's 1985 debut. It is also the first time a non-retro Air Jordan has featured the Swoosh, Jumpman and Wings logos on the one shoe. The first colourway destined for stores harkens back to the legacy of the AJ1, adopting the infamous OG 'Bred' colourway with the word 'Banned' printed beneath the herringbone outsole.

The Air Jordan XXXI will release through Jordan Brand stockists globally on September 3.
