Boot the 'Brrr': The Winterised Air Jordan 9 Returns

There's more to winterising a shoe than slapping a snowflake on the side. You've gotta robustify it, waterproof it, ready it for a dogfight with the icy onslaught of Nature's tempestuous temper. No entry in the is as suited to that transformation than the – because it's killed it before, and this year it'll do it again.
Designer already had flexibility in mind while planning the Air Jordan 9, as was embarking on his minor league baseball career (1993–95) at the time, and Tinker was crafting up a cleated version for the diamond. It wasn't until that the Jumpman decided the AJ9's blocky construction lent itself to a winter boot remix – but once they were on that wagon, they rode it straight to the snowiest summits. In addition to its early and famed colourways, the AJ9's sure-fire faves of 'Wheat' and 'Black/Light Gum' have stayed the course and will be back to keep tootsies toasty for the Holiday 2025 season.
So, what's the difference between the sneaker and the boot? Well, the winterised version is built in sturdy leather and suede, with an off-a-duck's-back coating to repel water. A gusseted tongue keeps the fit snug around the ankle, and metal D-ring eyelets keep the hike vibe strong. The outsole is a pugnacious slice of lugged rubber, delivering major traction for all weather and inspired by the Nike Special Field Boot. While both the 'Black/Light Gum' and 'Wheat' colourways have proven hot with 'heads, the latter is especially prized for its alt-Timberland feel.
The Air Jordan 9 Boot's return is slated for the October-December period, with a likely price of $250. Stay locked to Sneaker Freaker for updates!
