Update April 8, 2022: The Air Jordan 7 'Sapphire' is now on Nike SNKRS with a release set for April 16.

Update March 21, 2022: Official images have now arrived for the Air Jordan 7 'Sapphire', ahead of its reported release which is set for later this month.

The Air Jordan 7 originally released in 1992 in seven colourways that included the fan-favourite ‘Olympic’ iteration that was worn by the GOAT himself Michael Jordan during his Dream Team appearance in the 92 Summer Olympic Games. Other notable colourways from that year include the ‘Bordeaux’, ‘Hare’, ‘Raptor’ and ‘Cardinal’. Fast forward to 2022 and the legendary Air Jordan 7 is celebrating its 30th anniversary! It seems Jordan Brand hasn’t planned anything too extravagant but they have curated a ‘Sapphire’ colourway to celebrate the milestone.

We actually first caught wind of this colourway back in December last year with the reveal of Michael Jordan’s signature line Spring 2022 retro catalogue. It’s actually quite a fitting year because about ten years ago in 2002 the Air Jordan 7 received its first retro return! For the ‘Sapphire’ colourway Jordan Brand has opted for a bold new look choosing semi-translucent mesh panelling on the mid-section and toward the collar however, the basic shape remains the same. Pinky hues cover the entire leather upper with purple coming through under the mesh and full-length grey speckled outsole.

Originally, we heard that the Air Jordan 7 ‘Sapphire’ was scheduled for a release on April 30, however it may arrive sooner, as March 30 is the new date to watch. If you can’t wait, some sizes are available now on GOAT and Flight Club! Stay locked to Sneaker Freaker for more updates.
