The Air Jordan 5 Is Heading to ‘UNC’

Jordan Brand’s ‘University Blue’ hue is synonymous with the University of North Carolina, or UNC for short. Over the years, most of the heavy-hitter models have donned the scheme. Most recently: the Air Jordan 4 and Air Jordan 6. It makes sense that Jordan Brand favour the colourway, as Michael Jordan played three seasons for the college’s Tar Heels basketball team! Now, fresh off the back of 2021’s PE, the Air Jordan 5 is allegedly set to receive its very own ‘UNC’ combo.

The pair has been circling the rumour mill for some time now, but these images are the best look yet. This iteration, which will be available to the public, boasts a similar layout to its predecessor, albeit with a few changes. The upper comes correct in premium suede panels that complement the iconic Carolina blue tone. A silver tongue is the perfect spot to add a black Jumpman, while the midsole has been doused in black with icy blue outside and speckled white touches. Toward the rear is a stitched tag, and on the back of each tongue reads ‘heart’ and ‘soul’.
