Originally released in 1990, the Air Jordan 5 continues to tear across the sneaker landscape in 2022, the iconic silhouette recently remixed by Edison Chen’s CLOT imprint.

Famously inspired by a WWII fighter jet, the Air Jordan 5 has become known for its indelible shark tooth detailing on the midsole and 3M iridescent tongues. Combined with a translucent midsole, the AJ5 became a pop culture superstar in the 1990s, after Will Smith laced the shoe in The Fresh Prince of Bel Air (among many other grails from the Jumpman).

Designed by Tinker Hatfield, the ferocious silhouette continues to be a popular choice for sneakerheads of all ages, the latest WNBA-inspired colourway dubbed the ‘Pinksicle’.

Manufactured with a white leather base, mesh tongues and classic translucent netting, the AJ5 this time adopts a white, ‘Pinksicle’, and ‘Safety Orange’ palette. Complete with bright orange lace locks, the Grade School edition is complete with pink translucent outsoles.

Look for the Air Jordan 5 GS ‘Pinksicle’ to release on July 1. The retail price is $150.

In the meantime, make sure to check out why MJ’s fifth signature sneaker is still a bad, bad boy.
