Stay Dry at JD Sports in the Air Jordan 5 GORE-TEX
Retro and are like ebony and ivory. With the waterproof yet breathable membrane already gracing some of JB’s best, the hype is high for its next appearance on the GORE-TEX. They’re coming to this week and kicking off a big month of releases.
This limited edition AJ5 GTX is loosely based on the OG ‘Black Metallic’ edition that lit up the court over 30 years ago with its reflective tongue. That iconic feature is reprised on this modern lifestyle iteration. Other luminous details include the red accents on the tongue Jumpman logo, the midsole forefoot accent and the embroidered GORE-TEX callout on the left heel counter. This technology is the star of the show here, with its aforementioned desirable properties being both impervious to water ingress while ensuring optimised ventilation. And despite the nubuck-like upper, there’ll be a resistant coating that helps liquids bead off the surface. It’s pretty satisfying to watch.
