The next chapter in 2025 rollout is here – and it blends sharp detailing, legacy nods and one of the brand’s most intriguing sub-lines. The'Rare Air' is officially dropping at , bringing a new spin to a silhouette that’s enjoying a very strong year.

First surfacing through sample images during the backend of 2024, the model's nickname builds on the Jumpman's original concept-driven process which celebrates developmental quirks – unique and sometimes imperfect – found on early Jordan sample shoes. Rather than design-process errors, these elements are reframed as marks of rarity and individuality – features, rather than bugs. Applied to the AJ4, the series has been reimagined to bring together archival elements and updated features that feel both intentional and future-ready.

For the upcoming release, Jordan Brand outfits the upper in black nubuck with tonal mesh on the sides and tongue. Sharp ‘Fire Red’ moulded eyelets and matching TPU wings contrast against smooth grey suede wrapping the forefoot, detailed with crisp white stitching that nods to early Jordan construction. ‘Deep Royal Blue’ accents line the collar and reappear on the heel tab – replacing the usual Jumpman – for a bold, balanced pop of colour.

Advancing the 'Rare Air' concept, laser-etched details catch the eye, while a removable Velcro patch system on the tongue allows for customisable branding. Inside, the insole carries the Rare Air logo, weaving the theme throughout the design. Beneath it all, the midsole combines visible Air cushioning with a black heel, royal blue forefoot, and clean white outsole – an arrangement inspired by Jay Brand’s iconic team-era palettes, reimagined through modern sampling techniques.
