From Rockpool to Rotation: The Air Jordan 3 'Starfish' Drops Exclusively for Women

Upon its debut in 1988, the cemented itself as a triple threat – blending innovation, performance and timeless design – and has since retained its fresh-to-death status within sneaker culture. As the first Jordan model to feature a visible Air unit and elephant print details, it marked a turning point for the brand, winning over MJ after his disappointment with the .

Through the years, the Tinker Hatfield design has been reimagined countless times, inspiring many iconic releases (including the and ) that have pushed creative boundaries and introduced a wealth of women's-only colourways.

Ready to leave the rockpool very soon is the just-announced Air Jordan 3 'Starfish'. This canvas-constructed iteration replaces the usual elephant print seen on typical AJ3s with pops of orange on the mudguard and heel tab, as well as the tongue's embroidered Jumpman emblem and the sock liner.

After that canvas base layer, you've got seriously shaggy suede in matching 'Fossil' tone, covering the tongue, eyestays and collar. The upper is finished with tonal laces and TPU eyelets for added detail. Below, a cream and white midsole supports the silhouette, paired with a semi-translucent clear rubber outsole.

The Air Jordan 3 'Starfish' is a women's exclusive and will release on July 11 through SNRKS, select online retailers and in-store.
