With 2021 drawing to a close, we're beginning to get an idea of what Jordan Brand has in store for us in the early days of 2022. One of the styles that the Jumpman is set to bring to market is the Air Jordan 3 in a regal 'Cardinal Red' scheme that bears some similarities to the Air Jordan 7 'Cardinal', itself an OG colourway that was last retroed in 2011.

The Jordan Brand design team are certainly no strangers to taking a colour scheme from one of Michael Jordan's signature sneakers and deftly moving it to another, so this Air Jordan 3 copies the 'Cardinal' mix of red and gold atop a white leather base. It's certainly not lacking for its own flair though, as Tinker Hatfield's famed elephant print adds a little more classic style into the mix. As this isn't an OG Air Jordan 3, it uses a Jumpman logo on the heel in place of a Nike Air hit.

According to a report from sneaker leaker @solebyjc, the Air Jordan 3 'Cardinal Red' is set to release on February 24 pending official confirmation from Jordan Brand. JC also indicates that it'll be priced at $200, meaning Air Jordan retros could be seeing a $10 price hike in 2022.
