The Air Jordan 2 ‘H Wings’ Honours Howard White
wouldn’t be where they are without Howard ‘H’ White. The current Vice President of Jordan Brand Affairs and co-creator of the Wings initiative, H has been on the ground floor with and one of the key reasons why Michael Jordan ended up signing with the Swoosh as well as starting Jordan Brand in 1999. So without H, the Jumpman wouldn’t be where it is today.
To commemorate and honour Howard White, Jordan Brand is dropping an , his favourite , inspired by his beginnings and the Jordan Brand Wings initiative.
Made in the shape of the 1987 AJ 2 and dressed in the colours of his high school alma mater Kecoughtan High School, white leather makes up the upper with green and black accenting throughout. A wings graphic on the quarter panel designed by Jordan Brand Special Projects Footwear Designer Israel Mateo is the standout feature with the heel counter featuring a gold foil H in translucent finish. More black and green accenting are found on the sneaker’s Wings logo on the tongue and H is seen again on the insole with a black midsole and green outsole finishing off the sneaker.
The Air Jordan 2 ‘H Wings’ is set to drop on June 10, 2023, via SNKRS for $210 USD. In addition, Jordan Brand is welcoming their Wings Scholar Class of 2027 to coincide with the launch of the sneaker, bringing in 38 students from across the US and making it the largest cohort of North America Wings Scholars to date.
