Release Date: Aimé Leon Dore x New Balance 650R
Having already helped resurrect the long-forgotten , Teddy Santis and are applying their Midas Touch to the New Balance , another hoops classic from the vault.
A high top iteration of the extremely popular 550, the 650R adapts the outsized proportions of the original model, with puff and stitch collars and raw-edged leather eyerows. The shoe's EVA cupsole offers support, while yellowed midsoles emphasise the 650’s vintage characteristics.
Mimicking the colourways of their previous 550 collaboration, the ALD 650 comes in grey, green, navy and red. It’s the second release of the sold-out pack, the first release landing for Spring/Summer 2021.
Look for the Aimé Leon Dore x New Balance 650R styles to land on May 5. The retail price is $165.
Earlier this year, Teddy Santis was appointed as the creative director of NB’s Made in USA line – committed to featuring 70 per cent or more domestic-made materials, as well as produced by one of the label's American factories.
