Aimé Leon Dore’s Latest New Balance 650s Are Arriving Soon
continue their partnership with another drop of the retro basketball model that the collaborators helped revive from the archive. This new trio forms part of ALD’s Fall/Winter 2022 SONNY NEW YORK collection, which consists of heritage basketball-inspired garments and footwear.
These 650s open up the material book and introduce some textiles not used previously on the model. Despite being made for FW, there are generous lashings of mesh on the toe box and ankle collar, nodding to the athletic context of this model and its accompanying collection. Things are pretty by the book elsewhere, with perforated and plain leather overlays making up most of the upper. This season continues the on-brand colourways of tonal green, navy and grey, all of which are finished with cream laces, monochromatic midsoles and ALD’s bespoke tongue logo.
