Afew Goods Debut Their First Ever Sneaker: The Yamasura ‘Soil’
German boutique have with some of the game’s biggest brands over the past , and now they’ve applied their creative prowess to their very own sneaker: the Yamasura. Debuting in a ‘Soil’ colourway, the fan-favourite boutique took over three years to turn their concept into reality, creating a within a timeless, easy-to-rock silhouette.
The Yamasura features several vegan leathers sourced from all over Europe, combined with a number of recycled elements. For the midsole, the part that Afew dubs the ‘heart of the shoe’, they took inspiration from motorsport, namely the legendary Ferrari Testarossa. The car’s sleek design, as well as the distinctive air vents, are reflected in the sole, which is made out of an innovative algae EVA provided by sustainability leaders BLOOM.
‘Algae is the fastest growing plant on earth and became a threat to other plants due to global warming. We wanted to turn something negative into something positive. Purifying 16 litres of water, and cleaning 10 cubic metres of air with each sole,’ says Afew.
