Afew and ASICS Champion Mental Health with the GT-II 'Uplifting Pack'
The long-running partnership between and has produced many a memorable release, with inspirations ranging from to the philosophy of . Now, the German boutique and the Japanese footwear brand have embarked on what may be their most impactful collaborative project yet: the 'Uplifting Pack.'
Made up of two takes on the GT-II – which was the first-ever ASICS sneaker to feature the brand's now-ubiquitous GEL cushioning technology when it debuted in 1986 – the 'Uplifting Pack' was created with assistance from Deutsche Depressions Hilfe, a German mental health organization. One pair is more colourful with a mix of brown, tan and salmon tones, while the other, more muted pair is served up in various shades of grey. Both feature a medley of premium materials that range from suedes both perforated and shaggy to thin wale corduory and are completed by special brain logos on the heel. Afew and ASICS have also produced an ultra-special box set with both shoes that'll be limited to a scant 10 units.
Expect the Afew x ASICS GT-II 'Uplifting Pack' to release via the Afew webstore on June 10, with 10 per cent of proceeds going to Deutsche Depressions Hilfe.
