The Air Max Plus Gets a 2025 AFCON Twist from Nike

Club football is nearly wrapped and all eyes are shifting to Morocco, where AFCON 2025 kicks off this December. With 24 national teams heading in to chase continental glory, the tournament runs through January 18 and marks Morocco’s first time hosting since 1988. Tapping into the hype, is reportedly lining up a special edition to drop alongside the action, blending that big game feel with one of its most iconic silhouettes.

Teased on Instagram by @bubblekoppe, the AFCON-themed release is expected to feature a colour palette inspired by the CAF logo, combining white, black, 'Kelly Green', and 'University Red'. The design will likely include co-branded details referencing the tournament, set to take place across six Moroccan cities and nine stadiums, with the final held at Rabat’s Complexe Sportif Prince Moulay Abdellah.

While the Air Max Plus doesn’t have the same pitch history as the AM95, it’s built a name for itself in Morocco. Nicknamed 'Cobras' by locals, the kick carries a neighbourhood rep that’s not far off from all-black Air Force 1s.
