UPDATE: Derided by the likes of Yeezy Mafia as being an 'outdated' and 'abandoned' endeavour, this mysterious pink mid-cut Yeezy has surfaced once again, this time in the hands of one of Instagram's most notorious sneaker leakers. The photographer has made no comment on the shoe itself – except for the addition of a #yeezy650 hashtag – but has a track record for previewing sneakers months ahead of their release with a near flawless hit rate.

At this stage, adidas are yet to officially comment on a release, but we'll be sure to keep you updated when more info rolls in.

While dozens of fakes and questionable customs filter through sneaker channels every day, it’s rare that a prototype makes its way out of grasp after being shelved in the design process – but that appears to be the case here.

The shoes appeared, as usual, on a sneaker leaker’s Instagram and have been labelled the Yeezy 650 v1. Characterised by a raised collar, the new model looks to be a natural graduation of the 350 v2. The tooling is the same, and the v2’s midsole seems to be reused, although a portion of the heel comes in a darker tint. Before you get your hopes up about a new Yeezy, it should be noted that Yeezy aficionados have already claimed the shoe to be a discontinued idea that won't be hitting retailers.

Of course, adidas are yet to weigh in on the 650 v1 and it’s sure to stay that way. But don’t be too disappointed, there’s still a ‘Triple White’ 350 v2 dropping on April 29.
