adidas Unveil Futurecraft Forgefiber

The boffins at the laboratory have been hard at work dreaming up their latest technological development. The Futurecraft FORGEFIBER uses a TPU coated yarn to add areas of varying strength and stability to a breathable upper, before heat pressing the panel to bond the threads to the main material. The new technique uses a similar principle to traditional Japanese sashiko stitching with reference to patterns found in nature, then utilises modern production technology to give us a cutting-edge sneaker. This new method allows designers to strengthen and reinforce sneakers using less material and leave a smaller environmental footprint.
