The adidas UltraBOOST 'Cream' Gets Churned Up Once Again

Originally released back in December 2015, the UltraBOOST 'Cream' is one of the most beloved colourways from adidas' first batch of UltraBOOSTs. At one point, it would frequently go for over $500 on the aftermarket and it's still often discussed among the UltraBOOST's best colourways of all time. Now, it's getting churned up for a 2022 comeback.

We last saw the 'Cream' back in 2018 as part of a three-pair classic colourway reissue, and it seems like that pair has been Rip Van Winkle-d right into 2022 entirely unchanged. Its cream, chalk and grey upper are built from signature stretchy Primeknit, while the Three Stripe midfoot cage and heel clip are both made of durable plastic – the former features two-tone detailing, while the latter opts for a metallic gold and silver UltraBOOST graphic. Down below, bouncy white BOOST midsoles and modernised black Continental rubber outsoles that use flat discs instead of the original UltraBOOST 1.0's textured nubs (which were quick to wear down) complete the look.

There's no telling if this is a full-on re-release or if Overkill, the retailer that posted the 'Cream,' is just letting BOOST lovers get a crack at some leftover pairs. Either way it goes, they'll touch down on June 1 and be priced at $220.

You probably know that Primeknit is a key material for almost every UltraBOOST release, but do you know exactly how it came to be and what its properties are? Find out in its instalment of our Material Matters series, linked here.
