UPDATE: If you're feeling these Spezial reissues, Titolo have them available now.
adidas hosted a major retrospective under the SPEZIAL banner last year, showcasing over 800 pairs of shoes supplied by UK collectors in London. Curated by Gary Aspden and Mike Chetcuti, SPEZIAL was such a success, they’ve buttered up for round two, heading north to Manchester as part of Design Week in mid-October. Upping the ante, they’ve also assembled an adidas Originals x SPEZIAL capsule collection of premium leisure wear and trainers that will hit the street later this year.
This version of adidas’ classic Touring shoe sees the pattern of the 2006 reissue reworked to bring it much closer to that of previous vintage editions. The adidas branding is also made from a stitched-down leather patch, rather than the horizontal eye-stay flap of the reissue. A brushed green nubuck upper sits atop a hot chocolately midsole, finished off with the unique SPEZIAL footbed, shoe box and swing tag.
We’ll have more exclusive SPEZIAL news so check back for your daily updates and check the huge SPEZIAL feature in Issue 31 of Sneaker Freaker.
