It’s hard to deny the current cultural might of the , with the iconic model singlehandedly bolstering Team Trefoil’s appeal to the wider market. Through the silhouette, the German brand’s wider catalogue has received plenty of fanfare, especially their other low profile iterations such as the and The slim trend mixed with Y2K mania has reached other brands too – recently announced that their legendary was making a comeback, with the not too far behind. Responding to this, adidas continue to dig into their archive, pulling out a plethora of low-profile iterations. Next up is the , the undisputed lightweight champion of low-profile sneaks!

The Taekwondo silhouette is a relic of adidas’ past, having originally released in the early-2000s for the sport it was named after. During the period when it originally released, low-profile sneakers were all the rage, so of course, the Taekwondo was appropriated for lifestyle wear. Since then, it’s had a rather quiet existence, but it inspired a plethora of Y-3 sneakers and has even returned to the adidas mainline offering in various forms. It’s now back in OG tones, with some slight changes to the midsole which has been slightly heightened and now boasts a contrast gum outsole. Elsewhere, the model has been bolstered with a full premium leather upper and lace shroud with retro adidas branding.
