When adidas first released the T-MAC 3 in 2004, Tracy McGrady was close to the height of his powers. It was his final season with the Orlando Magic, and besides putting up averages of 28 points, 6 rebounds and 5.5 assists per game, McGrady made sartorial waves by wearing a mismatched pair of T-MAC 3s – one red, one blue – during the 2004 NBA All-Star Game. Now, 17 years later, adidas is celebrating the legacy of McGrady's third signature sneaker by re-releasing its familiar 'Black/Royal Blue' colourway.

Usually worn by McGrady during Magic away games (in which they'd sport matching blue uniforms) the 'Black/Royal Blue' is a 'business in the front, party in the back' type of sneaker. The lateral half is dressed all in black with a subtle scale pattern, but the patent leather-coated medial half offers vibrant blue stripes, a nod to the pinstripes found on the Magic's throwback uniforms. T-MAC branding is sprinkled throughout, and from a technical standpoint, this T-MAC 3 is upgraded with a BOUNCE setup in place of its standard EVA foam/adiPRENE+ combo.

Retro hoop shoe lovers can expect the adidas T-MAC 3 'Black/Royal Blue' to hit shelves on December 1, with a yet to be determined retail price.
