The is having another moment as a certified street staple, but the Three Stripes are keen to remind sneakerheads of the model’s football origins. They’re doing this by picking iconic teams from around the world and representing their classic colours.
The international clubs include Manchester United, Bayern Munich, Real Madrid, Arsenal, and Juventus, making up the European contingent of legendary franchises. There’s also US representation with Austin FC, a relatively young team founded in 2018.
Each pair uses the Samba’s standard leather upper and brown gum rubber sole, switching up the primary colours and contrasting stripe branding to match the allotted team. The tongues are also branded with the team’s crest in place of the usual trefoil logo. Finally, the Samba wordmark is stamped on the lateral side in gold per standard convention, though having the team name there instead would’ve been cool.
