The adidas Forum ‘Collegiate Green’ is a Lesson in Simplicity
The bringback has resulted in a kaleidoscopic jumble of colours, textures and materials with recent releases. However, the brand is doing well to also remember the simpler and classier origins of the flagship 1980s baller by releasing clean colourways such as the ‘Collegiate Green’.
Opting to use the easier to wear low-cut variant, adi dress this Forum in white leather, just like the originals, but use a slightly more tumbled texture. And the only other colour that’s found is the namesake ‘Collegiate Green’, which covers the stripe branding, throat, heel counter (wrapping into the medial side, strap (which is now removable – earlier releases were fixed and had to be snipped off), and lining of the upper. The rubber outsole is also coloured to match, plus the OG trefoil logos on the lateral and tongue.
That’s really all there is to these Forums. As the ‘collegiate’ colour name suggests, this sneaker nods back to school basketball teams all around the world. However, it’s more likely the tote-bag carrying crowd and cuffed hem IG archive curators will be the primary party rocking these retro kicks.
