The adidas Crazy 8 is still a cult favourite among fans of Kobe Bryant’s legendary Three Stripes era. After nearly a trio of decades on ice, adidas finally brought back the silhouette last year and hoops-heads have been eagerly lacing colourways ever since.

First appearing in 1997, the Crazy 8 was Kobe’s debut sneaker with the German sportswear giant. Simply put, the Crazy was the one that started it all. Originally dubbed the KB8, the Crazy 8 is now arriving in its inimitable 1998 All-Star Game colourway (worn by Kobe as he faced off against Michael Jordan).

Thankfully, it looks like adidas have faithfully reproduced the iconic design, with the colourway acting as a direct homage to Kobe’s career-long tenure with the Los Angeles Lakers. Manufactured in tumbled leather, sleek patent leather and mesh, the mixed material build features gold accents and a tribute to the year, with ‘98’ embroidered on the toe (replacing the original ‘8’). The pull tabs also now feature 3M accents, just in case you wanted to get some hoops in under the moonlight.

The adidas Crazy 8 ‘All-Star’ will hit shelves on February 15 – right in time for All-Star Weekend.
