adidas Consortium La Trainer OG Mig (Black/Silver)
UPDATE: From the Swoosh to the Three Stripes and every brand in between, vintage retros are a regular sight on the release calendar. Although, while they may look the same, it is rare to find a re-released silhouette that has also been crafted with the same level of care and performance. The 2016 adidas Consortium resurrection of the ,LA Trainer is one such release. Made in Germany, the same as the 1984 OG, this impeccable retro replicates the original in most every way possible – right down to its customisable Vario Shock-Absorption System. For the pedants out there, the only difference of note is the addition of Consortium branding to the tongue and insole.
We have a lot more technology in running shoes today than they did 30 years ago, so it can be easy to overlook how impressive some of the earlier developments were at the time. The adidas' LA Trainer is one of those shoes that gave athletes a whole new take on the humble running shoe, even if it does seem a bit quaint by todays standards. The midsole contains three interchangeable pegs that can adjust the level of cushioning, depending on the runner’s weight, running style and terrain.
The upcoming adidas Consortium LA Trainer features the once revolutionary peg-system, as well as an upper produced from the very same materials that were used in 1984. The made-in-Germany shoe gives us as close to an exact reincarnation as possible.
The adidas Consortium LA Trainer OG MIG ‘Black/Silver’ release on August 6 at Consortium stockists, such as End.
