Dennis Busenitz is part of the old guard under the adidas Skateboarding umbrella, having been part of the brand since 2006. His eponymous signature sneaker has been a skater and sneakerhead favourite for well over a decade, and this vintage drop goes proper heritage with its black and white leather build. Given that the Busenitz is inspired by football boots with its big tongue flap and indoor-compatible sole, this new edition is a perfect homage to its predecessors.

Of course, some changes were required to adapt this model from pitch to grip tape, while others seamlessly crossed over. The aforementioned tongue flap, while protective, can be trimmed down to size to allow more range of movement. Its shaft is also padded to dull any instep impacts. Hard-wearing and grippy rubber soles taken from the Three Stripes’ rich terrace shoe catalogue require no modifications at all.

This latest edition swaps the Busenitz’s usual suede construction for an all-leather build, which is reinforced appropriately with longitudinal toe stitching. The white accents on the stripes, ankle tab, heel counter and outsole are classical, and the gold stamped branding connects directly to adi heritage. At a glance, these look like the old Copa Mundial boots!

The Busenitz in black and white leather is available now directly from adidas.
