Did you catch the London Marathon over the weekend? On the feet of multiple elite category racers was the Nike ZoomX Vaporfly NEXT%, but record holder Eliud Kipchoge pushed on wearing the Air Zoom Alphafly NEXT%. While his 8th place, and the end of his 10-marathon winning streak, may be a disappointing result for some, the equipment was not to blame. Regardless of the race results, Nike have three new colourways of the futuristic design hitting the pavement very soon.

Previously reported have been a ‘Mango’ edition of the techy runner in accordance with Nike colours this season, plus the white and pink prototype colour that was spotted last year when Kipchoge ran a sub-two-hour marathon distance. Joining the high performance crowd is a Kenya PE of sorts, with green and red heel detailing. All are built with Atomknit uppers joined to ZoomX and Zoom Air midsoles.

The release of these three Alphaflys will be staggered. First, the ‘Mango’ pair is already out in China, with worldwide availability coming shortly. The Kenya edition releases exclusively to UK-based members via the Nike Running Club app on October 11, but a wider drop will come next year. Finally, the ‘Prototype’ colourway will release globally on October 12.
