A Cold Wall Nike Air Force 1 Low Flyleather Official 2

When 's Samuel Ross had the opportunity to take on the , he wanted to push the idea of sustainability for his colab. The result? Flyleather takes on the classic design, using at least 50 percent recycled natural leather fibre to reduce their carbon footprint.

'Flyleather is a vessel to refine an idea that was already quite strong,' says Ross. 'The technology behind it is also connected to the progression of my design practice, my label and, of course, my work on the Air Force. To produce a shoe that carries a sustainable narrative and talks to modern issues is a big thing.'

'When I first started collaborating with Nike, I had, like, 10 stockists. So, sustainability felt like something that was a much bigger issue than my own business,' he explains. 'Now, we're at 130 stockists and our consumption rates do need to adjust. It has been brilliant to actually open up that conversation with Nike around clothing and footwear in order to take steps towards becoming more sustainable at A-COLD-WALL*.'

Fans may not have been privy to the collaboration's Flyleather construction until now, but are undoubtedly intimately familiar with the overall aesthetic of the highly anticipated drop. Official imagery of both the and colourways recently surfaced, and the kicks see seamless uppers with ACW* branding throughout, and a unique lacing system that employs just two pairs of eyelets.

Look for the kicks to debut in Shanghai this Sunday, December 9, before getting a global drop on December 21.
