1017 ALYX 9SM and ROA Team up for This Hi-Vis Trail Shoe
Trail-inspired sneakers are slowly taking over as the next ‘in’ shoe. Brands like and have their own iterations but come with less functionality and a steeper price. Upcoming fashion house 1017 ALYX 9SM, formerly known as ALYX, has partnered again with hiking brand ROA for their FW18 collection.
The collaboration will please both mountain enthusiasts and streetwear icons with a fresh, hi-vis orange and black adaptation of ROA’s Oblique trail shoe. Pairs offer everything a trekking sneaker requires, from a Vibram rubber outsole and tactical nylon outer to breathable mesh lining for the inner. Matthew Williams’s take of the model swaps out traditional lacing systems for a cotton fastening cord, metal boot lace hooks, and a reinforcement strap across the midfoot. You’ll also spot subtle branding on the tongue.
