Pharrell, Clipse and the adidas Jellyfish Sting Paris Fashion Week

As the fashion world calibrates its compass at Paris Fashion Week, a shiny new colab has emerged at the crosshairs of music and footwear. Virginian hip hop duo Clipse – comprising veteran rapper (fresh from shedding his Def Jam straitjacket) and his brother Gene 'No Malice' – put their beef on low for a showcase performance. The sneaker under the spotlight was a fresh iteration of the Jellyfish, poised to poke its tentacles into corners of the sneakersphere that perhaps even Clipse haven't reached yet (doubtful).
The Jellyfish is the brain-blob of , who found time out from his role as Creative Director of menswear to at (the other) Paris Fashion Week. During that Fall/Winter showcase, the Jellyfish presented in a vibrant orange, which did a bang-up job of emphasising the model's oversized synthetic architecture.
Now, the introduction of a comparatively subdued white-and-grey palette reframes the model as a more contemplative sort of heat. The colourway broadcasts an immediate visual rapport with classic tech runners, with futuristic contours highlighting the shoe's innovative construction. It's versatile, with a sophisticated restraint.
Clipse previously appeared in the campaign for Pharrell's adidas Superstar '92 in early 2025, but the connection between these three amigos goes far deeper. Pharrell discovered the musicians in 1993 when they were all hangin' around the same haunts in their shared hometown of Virginia Beach, and became their mentor. He's been deeply involved with all three of Clipse's critically acclaimed albums, and serves as producer for the musicians' massively anticipated fourth LP Let God Sort Em Out (due July 11), which was partially recorded at Luis Vuitton's Paris HQ.
The continuous exchange of ideas between these talented creatives is good news for the Jellyfish, which finds itself infused with authentic street cred that resonates with discerning sneakerheads.
adidas have confirmed that the orange colourway will be the first to drop, landing in super-exclusive quantities during a June 26 Fashion Week activation and with a reported retail price of 300 clams. Keep it locked to remain up to date on when the tide will bring these hot invertebrates to a wider release.
