Calling All Tuned Fanatics! The Nike Air Max Plus VII Is Back

The franchise holds more than just the infamous OG TN, spanning multiple models that have slowly been forgotten with time. One of those only just remembered by Nike is the rambunctious Air Max Plus VII, aka the TN7 – and now it’s been confirmed to return!
Over the past few years, Nike have been diving deeper into their Beaverton archives, resurrecting plenty of obscurities like the , ACG Phassad and now the Air Max Plus VII. Rumours of the return first peeked out of the fray at the beginning of this year, with French football superstar also said to be getting his own version in 2026. But before all that, we’re set to get the ‘Bumblebee’ – officially titled the ‘Varsity Maize’.
Confirming the comeback is official imagery from Nike, which exhibits the cult classic in all its glory. In case its name didn't already give the game away, the TN7 was the seventh iteration of the Air Max Plus franchise when it released back in 2005. You can identify the build by its one-piece mesh upper (complemented by little TPU patterns throughout), and squared-off midsole Air unit. For the ‘Bumblebee’ iteration, most of the upper is dressed in yellow, with gradient grey-to-black patterns and white midsole. Completing the design is the standard ’TN’ branding on the tongue, heel, outsole and insole.
Alongside the official imagery of the ‘Bumblebee’, there’s also been a leak of another colourway made up of ‘Total Orange/Volt’ (pictured above). A resurrection date for the Nike Air Max Plus VII isn't confirmed as of yet, but we’re expecting a drop between July and September.
